- The Mariner Shawl collar is inspired by the shawl collar jumpers widely worn in 1930's/40's.
- Knitted in 100% British wool, 3 gauge, with comfortable tension.
- Inset sleeve fit, hand linked shawl collar, finished with a natural Italian corozo nut fisheye button and loop closure.
- Compared to the Expedition Shawl collar jumper, The Mariner is a chunkier knit and has a slightly smaller and more snug collar.
- N.S.C. 100% cotton drawstring bag delivered free with your order.
This style features a form fitting inset sleeve where the shoulder seam sits directly on top of the shoulder. We recommend if you are looking for a jumper with a looser fit across the shoulders.
If you are unsure of your N.S.C. size, take a measurement around your chest at your underarm, in inches, with a soft tape measure. Our knitwear fits true to size. If you prefer a loose fit, we suggest you order a size up. Refer to the for further measurements.

In the first instance, we recommend airing your knitwear outside. Remove small stains with a cloth and cool water. Piling can be removed with a wool shaver. When a wash is necessary we suggest hand washing.
Hand Wash
Mix a wool specific detergent with lukewarm water and swirl the garment delicately in the water. To dry, lay the garment on a flat surface and gently squeeze excess water from the wool with a towel. Do not twist or wring out a jumper. Stretch it gently to the correct size and shape before letting it air-dry laid flat. Softener can be added just before the final rinse if desired.
Machine Wash
Although not recommended, if a machine wash is necessary, knitwear can be washed using a wool specific detergent on a cold wool cycle with a low spin. Never tumble dry.
